～We want to establish a piano competition as an international cultural project that will offer an opportunity for young people who aspire to make their dreams come true through music on the world stage～

The Takamatsu International Piano Competition is the first international music competition in Shikoku, founded by local volunteers with such passion. Since its inception in 2006, the competition has grown to become one of the three major international piano competitions in Japan and is attracting attention both in Japan and abroad as a gateway to success for pianists who aspire to become world-class pianists. The 6th competition will be held in 2026, and we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the tremendous support and cooperation of all those involved.

The competition maintains three significant characteristics. First, we receive the active support of many companies, organizations and volunteers, including Kagawa Prefecture and Takamatsu City.
Secondly, as a supplementary prize, many opportunities to perform in Japan and abroad are offered in the hope of the winners playing internationally. Thirdly, the competition is held in Sunport Hall Takamatsu, an outstanding hall that is highly praised by the performers and those involved, against the blue sea and sky of the Seto Inland Sea.

We will continue aiming to provide a higher-quality competition appreciating these characteristics inherited from the first edition. With the slogan "Shared Dreams, Shared Emotions", we will provide continuous support for young pianists to encourage them to fully demonstrate their abilities as well as to contribute to the development of local music culture.
