As the mayor of the host city, I am very pleased that the 6th Takamatsu International Piano Competition (TIPC) will be held in our city again in 2026, and I would like to extend a warm invitation to all.

Under the slogan of " Shared Dreams, Shared Emotion," this competition has been held since 2006 with the aim of discovering and nurturing talented young pianists from far and wide, helping local players realize their "dreams" and "aspirations" for personal growth, and furthermore promoting international exchange through meeting not only with contenders but also with maestros from around the globe.

In 2015, the TIPC joined the World Federation of International Music Competitions, and as a gateway to becoming a world-class pianist, many have participated in the competition to date and have made great strides on the world stage. Filled with intense atmosphere, magnificent performances unfolded every time. Takamatsu citizens were touched by the powerful yet delicate presentations. I expect that the upcoming competition will be as high-level as before, and I have high hopes that the audience will be spellbound by the charm of the piano and the contestants for their techniques and artistic sensitivities.

In conclusion, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the TIPC Organizing Committee and all those involved for their efforts in putting this amazing event together. I sincerely hope that it will continue to attract many participants from all over the world, and that the next generation of virtuosos will be born here and play active roles in the future.
